The Neighborhood
Torwood is located on the west side of the city of Saline, MI, which is known for having award winning schools and small town spirit with close proximity to Ann Arbor. Our close proximity to I-94 and US-23, shopping malls, sporting events, golf courses, and public facilities makes Torwood an ideal place to come home to. While close to all the amenities our area has to offer, our subdivision is nestled in a quiet country environment.
Close to Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan, Torwood is also a short drive to the beautiful the Irish Hills area , known for its lakes, beautiful countryside and outdoor activities. Within Torwood itself, we have many Green Spaces and wooded areas, and we are within walking distance to the Saline River, fishing and many parks. Mill Pond Park is one such park that borders Torwood off the Saline River. Mill Pondt has a large play structure for kids, a large dog-run area, is home of the Saline Celtic festival in July, as well as summer outdoor Movies in the Park for families.
Torwood is within the Saline city limits, and therefore has City Water, underground cables/wiring, City Garbage collection, street snow removal and other city amenities. Our children attend the City of Saline School District, recognized as a premier school system within the State of Michigan. Our rankings are consistently above the State and National averages in all grade levels, and the community support for the education system, as well as for sporting events is strong. Saline High School is a state of the art facility.
